Hair Transplantation

Hair transplantation is a type of tissue transplantation. Patient's own tissue is transplanted.

There are two types of hair transplantation techniques:

1. FUT (FOLLICULER UNIT TRANSPLANTATION)

1-2 cm x 15-20 cm two piece of strip-shaped skin is removed from between the two ears. This piece is cut into smaller pieces which contains 1-3 hair follicles.  These prepared parts (the graft) are inserted into channels which opened in bald areas with the aid of 1-3 millimeter lancets.  FUT method has been discovered earlier than FUE method but FUT method is preferred rarely.

2. FUE (FOLLICULER UNIT EXTRACTION)

Hair follicles are taken with 0.6-0, 7 mm thin cylinder-shaped tools.  These hair follicles are placed in channels which have been opened on balding areas or on sparsely haired areas. Hair follicles and taken individually and ultrathin instruments are used, in this method there is no scar will occur on scalp. If a few sessions will be made repeatedly, it is a more suitable method.
