Prominent Ear Surgery

The duty of the ear is collecting the sound waves and transmitting them to internal and middle ear. This operation is performed in case of disfigurement of tragus, also it is performed if angle between tragus and head is wide than normal. The tragus has cartilage structure and it has typical shape.

If there is a disfigurement or wide angle as mentioned above, this situation affects people as psychologically by starting from childhood period and it causes social problems which may affect future lives of these people especially in childhood period.

Prominent ear surgery is operated under general anesthesia for kids before they start to school. In adult ages operation is performed with only local anesthesia or general anesthesia by numbing the ear can be operated.

Prominent ear surgery takes 1-1,5 hours; for each ear it takes approximately 30-40 minutes. After operation, a bandage is put on ears for 1-3 days. After removing bandages, ear bandana should be used for 2-4 weeks.  

You may feel pain after surgery, but this pain will be very sharp as much as to discomfort you. An analgesic medicine you will use it in first few days allows you to pass your healing period comfortable. You should to keep your ears from impacts and folding forward movement for 3 months after surgery.
