Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty Surgery is performed in order to remedy the problems such as;

1.    Separation of the abdominal muscles,
2.    The formation of cracks in the skin in the abdomen,
3.    Sagging of the skin or
4.    The accumulation of fat in abdomen

There are two abdominoplasty surgeries depending on deformity in the abdomen, they are named as total or mini abdominoplasty surgery. Nowadays, also liposuction is performed in these two kinds of surgeries. Total abdominoplasty surgery is performed for in greater deformity and sagging. Mini abdominoplasty surgery is preferred for cases that patient’s abdominal deformity and sagging is lesser.

In this is surgical intervention, excess fat and sagging skin on the front of the abdomen are removed and weak anterior abdominal wall is tightened. The operation which makes navel and abdomen appearance better leaves a permanent scar, but this scar will be under underwear.

Operation time is between 1.5 to 4 hours. Hospitalization period is usually 1-2 nights depending on the patient's condition. Generally, patients can back to their jobs after 2-4 weeks.

Plastic surgeons propose to patients to wear corsets for 1-2 months after surgery and to avoid from active exercises which will force the abdomen.
