Liposuction

Liposuction is method of removing excess fat tissue through vacuum from certain parts of the body. However, liposuction known as weight loss method among people but it is wrong information because liposuction is not weight loss surgery it is a contour correction surgery.

To be able to achieve successful results in liposuction procedure the patient's health and elasticity of the skin of the patient should be taken into account. For successful results, the weight of patient must be appropriate. Because fat ratio which will be removed from body must not be more than %5 of patient’s weight.

For example if the patient has 25 kilo overweight, 3,5 – 4 kilo fat tissue can be removed from this person and this amount will not give a significant result. Hence, the patient will not be satisfied with the process. But if the patient has 10 kilo overweight, 2 kilo will be removed from body and the patient will be thin about two sizes.

Nowadays, liposuction can be performed with support of laser, ultrasound or motorized devices (power assisted). The choice of auxiliary techniques is determined by doctor according to the amount of fat, age, and skin condition of the patient.

Liposuction procedure takes about 1-3 hours. After the procedure patient must use corset for 3-4 weeks. By this way oedema will be disposed more quickly. Subjects such as staying in hospital or time of backing to social life depend on the size of the procedure.
