Face Lift (Rhytidoplasty)

Facial aging is inevitable. Over the years, the face and neck skin loosens and laugh lines which is called as “"crow's feet" appear. The fine wrinkles on the forehead then further deepen. Sagging appears under the jaw like a second jaw and longitudinal bands occur on front of the neck. The surgery scars start from the temporal region. The scar will be hidden, because it is opened from temporal region, it goes on front of the ear, ear canal, under earlobe, towards the scalp from behind the ear. Your plastic surgeon lifts the skin after performing the stretching process for muscle and connective tissue and takes overset redundancies from the incision lines. Incisions will be concealed within the natural facial lines.

After redundant skin is removed, the incision is closed with fine sutures. During surgery, it does not need to shorten or shave hair of patient. Surgery is completed in approximately 3 -  6 hours. After the operation light pressure dressing and bandage is applied.
If any pain occurs after surgery, it can be controlled with oral analgesics. A little of swelling and bruising is normal, and it can be minimized with cold compress applications. Bandages and dressings are opened the day after surgery.

Your plastic surgeon will recommend you to restrict your activities, to keep your head high above and to inform your doctor about any of your complaint.

The drains placed after operation is removed within 1-3 days and the sutures are removed within 5 to 7 days.
Even healing is completed after 2-4 weeks; the person can back to work within 10-15 days. The surgery scars are reduced after a certain period of time. The scars hidden in natural face lines can be camouflaged with makeup. The tightness feeling which is felt immediately after surgery will subside within weeks. In addition, aging will continue after the operation, this should be kept in mind.
